New Beginnings

It's been a while since I have posted....things have been crazy around here. Another summer break has come and gone, and school has once again begun. Olivia also started going to "school" this past week. The person who watched her last year is no longer babysitting, so we decided to go ahead and try a learning center. She is so social and smart we thought it would be the best thing for her. On her first day, she was so excited and didn't even want to give me a hug and kiss, nor did she shed one tear (that hurt a little). Yesterday she cried out for me when I walked out, but was quickly distracted. She does very well with the other kids and really likes the teachers.

Olivia is changing every day before our eyes. It seems like she says at least one new word a day and I have lost track of how many she says...I'm going to guess it's around 100, maybe even more. She can put two or three words together to form a phrase and has an extremely sharp memory (must not take after me). We went to the zoo about 4 weeks ago and saw the baby elephant, Beco, who happened to be kicking a yoga ball around. A few days ago we were reading a book with an elephant in it and she pointed to it and said "Beekie, kick ball." We haven't discussed Beco at all since yet she remembers his name and what he was doing. I find that very impressive for an 18 month old. She is also become extremely naughty! She gets into everything she knows she shouldn't and giggles and runs away when you address her. It is so hard not to laugh sometimes. Anyway, I am going to post a few pictures and then try to get some more up later this weekend. Hope this finds everyone well.
