She Loves Me

As the mother of a very young child, you have to believe that your children love you...even if they really don't know what love is just yet. However, for the first time the other day I could tell that Olivia was expressing her love for me. She is always giving out kisses, hugs and pats to anyone around, but the other afternoon it was different. I went in to get her from her nap and she did her usual: threw herself down in her crib giggling while kicking up a storm (excited to see me). She then stood up and when I leaned over to pick her up she wrapped her arms around my neck and sqeezed so hard while saying, "Mummee, mummee" over and over in her sweet little voice. My heart melted; I knew in that moment that she was expressing her love for me, and boy did I feel it! This girl is truly a gift and I just can't imagine life without her.
